Gateways
Gateways is an item in the navigation tree, belonging to a top-level device. It is a container for the virtual gateways on the device. It can not be deleted.
Selecting Gateways in the navigation tree will display its details in a data-grid to the left of the navigation tree.
Some of the gateways contain predefined templates for the various protocols and are used in automatic configuration of BACnet devices.
To create a new virtual gateway, the user has to click on the New button on the toolbar.
The data-grid shows all the virtual gateway configurations and the devices they contain.
Device identifier: This is a unique BACnet device identifier for a device, inside a virtual gateway.
Name: This is the name of the device.
Max TL disk-write delay: This is a property that states the maximum database/file commit timeout in seconds. This timeout is set to minimize disk-writes of fast changing data, like rapid logging in Trend Log objects. The longer this timeout is the more data can be lost if the device crashes, for example by loosing power.
Enabled: This property states if the BACnet device is set to be enabled. If the BACnet device is not set to the active controller, then this property has no effect.
Peripheral setup:This is the name of the attached controller.
Gateway: This is the name of the virtual gateway.
Gateway bus: This is the peripheral bus for the virtual gateway. The peripheral buses available are dependant on the controller attached to the top-level device.
Gateway DNET: This is the destination network number address of the virtual gateway.
Gateway enabled: Determines if the virtual gateway is set to be enabled. If it is not enabled, then the underlying devices are also disabled.
